Wendy is a junior park ranger at Brighton Rock State park. She’s the kind of girl who can’t seem to get her act together - always late, always losing things, etc etc. When she volunteers to hang flyers on an advanced trail so her friend can flirt with a boy at the info desk, she isn’t taken seriously. That’s because her friends know she’s an “indoor kid” & couldn’t handle the job. Against all logic & good sense Wendy insists on taking the job. Things seem to be going fine, until Wendy realizes she has gotten incredibly lost. While she’s dealing with that she discovers a dead body.

Adelaide has been harboring a secret fear that her double is searching for her, & when a group of four strangely familiar people show up in their driveway one evening, she fears that she’s finally been found.

121 | The Hole in the Ground

Synopsis: Sarah is a young mother who flees a bad marriage with her elementary school aged son, Chris, to a new town & a house at the end of a creepy forest. Chris is upset & confused about why his dad didn’t move with them, & one day he runs from a fight with his mother into the forest. While Sarah is searching for him she runs across the titular hole in the ground, which turns out to be quite the understatement, as it’s fricking enormous. After this discovery, & a run-in with the town crazy lady who “accidentally” ran her son down with her car after claiming he wasn’t really her son, Sarah begins to suspect that Chris has been replaced by a look-alike who came out of the hole.

Synopsis: A fancy young businessman named Reed leaves his wife & their infant at home one day, ostensibly off to a work trip. His real destination is to a hotel in town, where he’s preparing to enact a long-held fantasy of murdering a woman. He has ordered an escort, & as he waits for her to arrive he runs through his game plan. It seems he’s thought of everything, but he couldn’t have accounted for Jackie, the escort who arrives, & who seems to have some interesting fantasies of her own.

Synopsis: Two women, Petula & Tilda, are on the run from the police after being busted with $80k worth of drugs. They flee to the country, where their childhood friend Daphne still lives alone in an enormous mansion. Daphne’s isolated estate would be the perfect place to hide out for a couple days. What’s even better, there’s a safe chock full of money somewhere in the house, just waiting to be found. The only catch? Daphne is cuckoo bananas, & insists on still playing their old games of make believe & never ever breaking character. Can Petula & Tilda find the safe before Daphne’s games end up killing them?

Synopsis: Possum is the name of a puppet, a horrible, abomination of a puppet, who this poor guy named Philip is always trying to lose. Philip arrives back in his home town with Possum in tow, & they return to his childhood home & his uncle(?) Maurice, who has been living there. Philip throws Possum in the trash, leaves him in the woods, etc. etc., but he wakes up in the morning & there he is again, good as new. Is Philip psychotic? Is the puppet an evil monster? And what the hell is up with Maurice?

Luckily, there’s a new film out that’s made by a woman, has three female leads, & looks VERY interesting. It’s called Braid, & hopefully you’re as intrigued as we are to watch it. Synopsis: Kevin Wendell Crumb’s monstrous personality The Beast is still on the loose, terrorizing Philadelphia. Luckily the city has a hero looking out for them, one who has been dubbed The Overseer. We know him as David Dunne, who has been working in conjunction with his now grown son to keep the streets safe. Of course, the powers that be do not condone vigilante justice, so when The Overseer finally tracks down The Beast their tussle attracts the attention of the authorities, who promptly toss both of them in a mental hospital. Enter Sarah Paulson, a doctor who specializes in the delusion that one is a superhero. She has been given the opportunity to treat her new patients for three days with the goal of getting them to realize they are just ordinary men. But wait! There’s a third party in the mix. Namely, Elijah Price has been a resident of this hospital since we left him at the end of Unbreakable, living in a drug-induced stupor. Now that we have all the ingredients we just mix & serve.
