Our Log Does Not Judge | Part 8

Well, that was a doozy. Part 8 takes us on a little detour with a totally unexpected origin story of sorts. Confused? Frightened? Still struggling to pick up the pieces of your fractured psyche? Don't fret - we're here to help. From the white lodge to Abe Lincoln chimneysweep to the infamous frog-bug, we'll lay it all out for you in time to get you sorted for part 9.

75 | We Go On

Writers/Directors: Jesse Holland & Andy Mitton

Synopsis: Desperate for a cure for his Thanatophobia, Miles places an ad in the newspaper offering $30k to anyone who can show him definitive proof of life after death. Out of thousands of responses, mostly from wackadoos & people looking to scam him, he’s able to narrow the list of prospects down to three, with the help of his pragmatic but rather bitter mother. Miles & his mom meet each person - a scientist, a medium & an Indiana Jones type - with varying degrees of success, but it’s a wild card contender who ends up showing Miles something that makes him wish he’d never gone looking for answers.

Next up, we'll be satisfying your "summer shark movie" cravings with a review of the heavily anticipated (ok, maybe not so much...) ocean thriller, 47 Meters Down. Did we mention this is starring pop music darling, Mandy Moore? Well, it is.

Our Log Does Not Judge | Part 7

Listen to Amy & Sandra rhapsodize about this episode's return to the classic Twin Peaks of the 90s. They sound so happy & naive, unaware that part 8 was about to air & blow their goddamn minds. So join us in reliving the quaint, bygone days when we were young & full of hope for the good people of Twin Peaks, & much more confident in our sanity.

Our Log Does Not Judge | Part 6

Yep, that's right - the "she" Albert & Cole were discussing is indeed Diane, & yes! Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles - she's Laura Dern. There's lots more in part 6, including some good ol' fashioned child homicide. Not to mention Carl. You mean Carl, the manager of Fat Trout trailer park, former home of Teresa Banks? Carl, immortalized by Harry Dean Stanton in Fire Walk with Me? The very same.

74 | It Comes at Night

it comes post.jpeg

Writer/Director: Trey Edward Shults

Synopsis: A family struggles to get by in their remote home after a mysterious illness shuts down the rest of the country. Our first introduction to this family is one that perfectly illustrates this brutal, uncertain new world in which they're living. When they decide to allow another family to take shelter in their home with them, we are left to wonder whether it's actually any safer inside the house.

Next up, we'll be reviewing We Go On, a movie from the creators of underappreciated horror flick, Yellowbrickroad. We're pretty excited to finally see another movie from these folks so join us, won't you?

Our Log Does Not Judge | Part 5

In part 5, Coop makes his way to Dougie's office somehow.  I'd like to think if I showed up to work semi-comatose my coworkers would notice. On second thought, maybe it'd be better if they didn't.  We also find out what the hell Jacoby's up to with all those shovels.

Also, Evil Coop creeps everybody out, we go to the diner & meet Shelley's Laura Palmer-esque daughter & lots of people want Dougie Jones dead.  Let's discuss.

Our Log Does Not Judge | Part 3

We hope you can hang in there with us through the madness that is Part 3.  Travel through space & electrical outlets with regular Coop!  Barf up immense amounts of yellow biohazard material with Evil Coop!  And visit a prostitute named Jade with an all-new Coop - Dougie Jones?

For those of you feeling confused - we had a little technical difficulty in uploading the epic two-part recap, so I had to break it into two separate episodes. The second half will be ready shortly. Sorry bout that!

73 | A Dark Song

Writer/Director: Liam Gavin

Synopsis: A grieving woman hires an occultist to help her perform a ritual, which will allow her to speak with her guardian angel, who will grant her one request: to speak to her dead son. Or so we are lead to believe. Unfortunately, she's not completely upfront about her motives and it causes more than a few kinks in the plan.

Next time you hear from us, we'll be finally discussing what, exactly, comes at night. This new flick from A24, which is actually called It Comes at Night and stars Joel Edgerton, is getting a fair amount of hype so, if it's playing near you, go check it out and then meet us back here in a couple weeks!
