A writer returns to his cottage to convalesce after a climbing accident that crippled him and killed his wife. He finds to his delight a gaggle of lovely co-eds are staying at the cabin next door, so naturally he begins to peep on the women with binoculars. What follows is a film in the grand tradition of Rear Window. But, you know, with bigfoot.

Next up, The Lodge, now available on Hulu for free and elsewhere for $$. I was all set to see this one right as the theaters in Michigan were closing down and had been anxiously awaiting it for probably a year before that. Why? Because its from the duo who brought you Goodnight Mommy.

Jim & Kelly are a young couple who venture out to the titular creek to fulfill Jim’s childhood dream - to visit the site where the famous Patterson-Gimlin bigfoot footage was shot. They film their excursion documentary-style, giving us a taste of the locals, some of whom are less than welcoming. When they start to hear strange noises around their campsite they begin to wonder if it’s the hostile townies or if there’s something more cryptozoological out there with them.

In case you don’t want to go into the comments section for Curt’s strange video recommendation, here you go. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

Next up, the newest Netflix film to get everybody talking, The Perfection. Watch it with your favorite teacher!
