Amy’s V/H/S Wishlist

Coralie Fargeat (Revenge)

The only director I can think of who could rival Timo Tjahjanto’s level of blood.

Chad Crawford Kinkle (Dementer)

Because I would really like more people to know about this guy.

Sophia Takal (Always Shine)

You’ll notice I put Always Shine there and not the Black Christmas remake, and that’s because Always Shine shows how good Sophia Takal can be. She’s already acted in a V/H/S segment, let’s let her redeem herself by directing a really scary one.

David Amito & Michael Laicini (Antrum)

Let’s see what else these two can do

Wraparound: Cristobal Leon & Joaquin Cocina (The Wolf House)

We all know the frame stories in the V/H/S series are garbage, so let’s really change it up and make it animated.

Just like the original Halloween 2, this one picks up right where we left off - with the Strode women heading to the hospital and Laurie’s house burning down with Michael inside. However, Michael is of course not dead and is back on the rampage once again. Now it’s up to an angry mob of Haddonfield residents, led by characters from the original Halloween, to take Michael down once and for all.

Next up, we’ll be watching and reviewing the listener suggested movie, The Empty Man (currently streaming on HBO).

Synopsis
A young woman rents a room in a creepy old house. The landlord said there was only one other tenant besides himself, yet she keeps hearing crying coming from supposedly empty rooms and running into strange people in the halls. And then there are the strange nightmares she’s been having since moving in...

Next up, the long awaited sequel to the rebooted sequel to Halloween, Halloween Kills. That’s right, it’s time for more Jamie Lee Curtis and her distinguished natural grey hair kicking ass and taking names, along with her daughter, Judy Greer. I just love that those two are the leads again. Assuming the trailer hasn’t misled us. Guess we’ll finally find out.

Synopsis

The Blind Man of the first movie is back, living in a run-down mansion with a daughter he’s raising as a survivalist loner. The little girl, named Phoenix, of course just wants to be a normal kid, and has begun pushing back against her father’s restrictive ways. Meanwhile, a greasy crime boss in the neighborhood has set his sights on Phoenix and has sent some goons on an errand to kidnap the girl. Guess how well that turns out for them...

Next up, it’s a remake we’ve all been pretty excited for. It’s a name that horror fans have feared for years…that’s right, it’s Candyman!
